The hotel boasts one of Brisbane’s best historic and intimate bars - The Lounge Bar. It serves a large variety of freshly brewed coffees, teas and snacks.
Upon arrival the reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. The beds were very comfortable and luxurious. The room had an expresso machine and was very clean. We had a lovely view of the botanic garden which had a lovely little market on Sunday morning. Easy walk to Queen St and the casino. Thankyou to the friendly staff for making us feel so welcome. Most hotels are not as friendly, well done!
OLD-STYLE CHARM IN SUPERB LOCATION
The Royal is in a quiet spot among beautifully-maintained colonial-era buildings, just around the corner from the riverside entertainment/restaurant precinct and the CBD: unbeatable location. Reception and restaurants offer the warmth of wood paneling. Rooms are more spacious than average. My only negative note, and it's a veryminor one, is that as with old hotels of a certain age, the Royal's bathrooms (at least mine) was a bit - not grotty, just tired. I genuinely enjoyed my stay.
Quietly stylish with good hospitality
I stayed 2 nights on business. Good sized room, stylishly furnished, excellent mini bar. Nothing was too difficult for the house staff, who were friendly and attentive.Good bar meals and snacks in bar. Excellent dining room. Generous breakfast.Handy location to city and I walked each morning in the botanical gardens across the road.
