OUR ROYAL HISTORY 1969 – 2011
Since our grand opening in 1969, Royal on the Park (originally named the Parkroyal Motor Inn) has seen Brisbane grow from a small ‘Country Town’ to a World City, and with the city the hotel has changed and flourished over the decades.
If these walls could talk they would tell a myriad of stories of grand celebrations, lavish parties, exclusive clubs, romantic evenings and an array of celebrity stays including John Farnham, Elton John, Kylie Minogue, ACDC and many more. Our name is tied to memories of fantastic nights and youthful frivolity, the hotel being the place to be seen in Brisbane.
Snapshots of the Royal on the Park Hotel journey can be seen in the newspaper articles below – spanning from the 1960′s to 2000′s.
